Mechanic/Industrial Maintenance

Greenway Recycling is hiring an experienced Mechanic/Industrial Maintenance with a hard work ethic and the ability to see in three dimensions. Located at our facility in Portland, OR; this is a Monday-Friday shift with occasional weekend work. We are in need of an individual who is willing to take responsibility and learn the ins and outs of our complex garbage recycling facility with multiple intricate machines and conveyance systems, and Heavy Equipment. Must have experience on heavy machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair Heavy Duty equipment up to and including wheel loader, excavator, scissor lifts, and material handling equipment.
• Candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance of all onsite equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Understanding of electrical systems and components
• Use proper hand signals and rigging techniques to guide instruments into place using varying cranes, hoists, and equipment
• Ability to weld using stick, MIG, and wire gas welder
• Maintenance and documentation is of upmost importance and should be a top priority
• Ability to fabricate using various sizes of steel tubes, beams, and plates
• Must be able to see in three dimensional space and understand how a piece of machinery functions
• Understanding of conveyance systems including gearboxes, motors, roller, belts and bearings
• Use visual indicators to determine if machinery or equipment is operating correctly
• Assemble mechanical parts together using hand tools or machines
• Ability to operate a wheel loader and excavator
• Company will provide basic and specialized tools, Candidate will need to provide all the tools required for maintanance and repair on Heavy equipment
• Service truck will be provided to store tools and run and grab parts

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mechanic experience.
• Experienced welder
• Able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
• Can do preventative maintenance on diesel equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, chains, etc.
• Must have proper tools
